Review by Kathy
Wonderfully written, exciting, intriguing, angst filled read that will keep you guessing then second guessing yourself until you finally find out who is after Carter. I loved the relationship between the feisty Carter and her best friend Liam, but it's her relationship with his best friend Austin that will have your heart racing and sometimes your anger piqued. I really loved Carter at the beginning of this story. She was strong, smart mouthed, feisty and was ready to jump on anyone who wasn't being fair. But when she she got with Austin, somewhere along the way, that feistiness seemed to back off a bit and she seemed to wilt a bit. His firecracker seemed to loose a bit of her spark. But that does not mean that I did not love this book or this story and the characters, all of them.
These characters were well written and very well developed. Carter, the sweet, firey, innocent teacher who moved to LA to take on a teaching job, along with her new friend Taylor. Austin, former body guard now up and coming MMA Fighter is as hot as they come. But their first meeting does not go well and he mistake's Carter for a groupie, the is a complete jerk to her afterwards. He's been burned in the past and does not trust any woman no matter how attractive he thinks she is. Oh, his first impression was not a good one and each meeting after that the tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Then Liam steps in and sets Austin straight. Annnndddd, it begins. Friends become best friends, until feelings get in the way and Austin freaks. You will have to read the rest for yourself.
Really wonderful book and I do highly recommend this book.
Writer of words. Drinker of Diet Cokes. Lover of all things cute and furry, especially her dog. Catherine has had her nose in a book since the time she could read and finally decided to write down some of her own stories. When she's not writing she can be found exploring her home state of Oregon, listening to true crime podcasts, or searching for her next book boyfriend.
