I want to start by saying I was blown away to learn that not only was Jessa York a new author but that Over Easy is her debut book. The book is very well written and has all the things I love about a good storyline: humor, romance, aghast and suspense. It also has terrific characters that are written in such a way that you feeling you know them and can feel their emotions. It also has one factor I truly hate which is that it ends in a Cliffie. However, I’ll give the author a pass on this as she has promised book two in a few weeks plus This particular Cliffie adds excitement at the perfect time, IMHO.

Harper is newly divorced from what A cheating, cold heartless guy, a guy that wants her back. She is living in a cheap apartment complex and has made friends with two older women in her building. These ladies have basically become her social life since her divorce. They finally convince Harper to go out for drinks along with a couple of her coworkers. That is when she runs into Jack. She literally bumps into him, spilling her drink on him. Jack is the owner of the upscale restaurant next door to the club she was meeting her friends at. Jack was instantly smitten and wanted to know everything about her. But Harper doesn’t trust easy and leaves Jack hanging. But Jack refusing to give up. Will Harper give him a chance? And what about her crazy ex? What kind of troubles will he bring when he he thinks she moving on?

2 Thumbs Up for an excellent read that will keep you entertained as well as on your toes and this reader is anxiously awaiting part 2, Over Hard. I highly recommend grabbing up Over Easy, you won’t regret it.

What a story!!! Harper has a douche for a husband, and a cousin for that matter. She catches them, she kicks him out, they divorce and now it's time to move on, right??? But moving on is hard when you've been married to someone who has drug you down so far. Climbing back up is difficult. Believing that you are more than what you have been made to believe is difficult as well, until the successful chef, Jack enters your world in a most embarrassing way. He is gorgeous, sweet, and he builds Harper's self esteem back up. He makes mistakes, yes, but he cares so much for her. His only problem is that he has a secret that he hasn't shared with her yet. He knows she has trust issues and he needs to be open about this, just as she has been with him about her ex-husband and her life. Big head slap to Jack for this one!

But Harper's life with her ex isn't over either. The man has a problem and is now coming around trying to get something from her, trying to even get her to take him back. She refuses both and now he's getting angry and a little volatile. The cops have been informed but they say there is nothing they can do at this point, which angers Jack as well as her friend Riley.

This story is so well written and intriguing. It will keep you transfixed to the pages as you move forward to see what will happen next, then BAM..you face plant into that huge wall that is the cliffhanger! WOW, didn't see that one coming.

The characters are well written and quite well defined. The supporting characters are charming and quite entertaining, especially Roza, her 70 something year old neighbor who is loud and has no filter what so ever. She is the one who tells Harper to find her a man with big strong hands. Riley is a mystery to me. There is something with this one that I just can't seem to nail down, but she has fighting skills, dresses like she's stepped straight off the runway and is beautiful to boot. She's also supposed to be some sort of lawyer, although we don't know this for a fact. Can't wait to see what her story is. Harper's work friends are amazingly supportive as is the wife of one of her co-workers. The mother of twin 5 year old boys, she and her husband's banter back and forth is actually true to life for anyone with rambunctious twin boys.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and devoured it quickly, yet was a bit unsatisfied...the cliffie you know. But it is a wonderful read and I highly recommend this book. Get it now and start the series from the beginning. You will not be disappointed.

Author Bio

Jessa lives in a very non-descript, unassuming town filled with the best kind of people. Most days, she can be found in the stands of various soccer fields, cheering her on Youngest, or discussing books with her Oldest (who is an English Honors student).

At night, if she’s not up burning the midnight oil, Jessa enjoys snuggling up to her hubby and watching his latest pick for a cheesy romance movie. He always chooses the best ones. (after he cooks supper, of course)
