Happy Hour by Piper Rayne

Happy Hour, an all-new hilarious enemies to lovers romance from USA Today bestselling duo Piper Rayne is LIVE!

The perfect man for her is the one she hates most. #gofigure
Dating is hard.
Dating in your thirties is even harder.
Dating in Chicago is harder still.
I haven't given up on finding my happily-ever-after, but in the age of swiping right and Netflix and chill, I'm wondering if everything is as temporary as my marriage turned out to be.
Truth is, there is one guy I can't get my mind off of.
Roarke Baldwin has salt and pepper hair I've dreamed of running my hands through and I'm pretty sure that if I checked he really does have a six pack of abs underneath his suit. And I've always wondered what that stubble on his face would feel like between my thighs.
The problem? He's the one man I hate more than my ex-husband…
His divorce attorney.

Review by Barbara

Great ending to the Charity Case Trio, but then with Piper Rayne I have learn to expect nothing less. This series has been one of my favorites. The authors gave us 3 strong female characters and built three wonderful storylines about their 2nd chances at happiness. While these ladies became great friends, they formed that friendship while working for a charity foundation that helps women and their 2nd chances at love were all certainly very different indeed.

Happy Hour turned out to be one of my favorites. It’s Hannah’s story and I just knew I was going to be in for a wild ride. May I say the authors did not disappoint me. Hannah may be rich enough to have pretty much anything she wants and she may be a bit jaded after her ex-husband cheated on her causing their divorce, but she is also funny, vulnerable and one stubborn cookie, especially with people she thinks have wronged her such as Roarke Baldwin, her ex’s attorney. But Roarke has a thing for Hannah, and sets out to win her over and prove he’s not a bad guy. But can he (she’s pretty darn stubborn at times)? See what happens when Roarke has Hannah over a barrel and it’s either do him 5 favors (none of which can be sexual in nature) or her charity ball goes down the drain! Like I said, a wild ride for sure.

This is a laugh a minute type of book. These ladies are a riot and Hannah is bound and determined not to get close to Roarke no matter how sexy he is (especially in his boxers). The banter is hilarious, and even the serious times have an added spark that will keep you glued to the pages. I hated to see this series come to and end (however the horizon sounds promising - hint hint). I give this book and series a resounding 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars.

"There's a thin line between love and hate", and when Roarke's offer to help find a venue for the Rise event, it does have one stipulation...Hannah has to do five favors for him in return. Oh My! But you see, Roarke has wanted Hannah ever since he first saw her when he was her ex husband's divorce attorney. He did his job well...too well and was able to give the cheating scum much more that he deserved of Hannah's wealth. A year later, the silver fox turns up the heat in Hannah's life quite subtlely, of course. He wants her to get to know the real Roarke, not just the winning divorce attorney, but the MAN himself. With a well thought out plan, he begins his favors, quite simply but also allowing her the ability to get a glimpse into his personal life, then a larger look as he brings her to the town that he grew up in for his sister's wedding. Oh and the fun really begins in earnest as the tension builds to the climax of the night (pun intended).

The characters are deliciously well written and have you wishing that you knew these people, just so you could watch their relationship build into what it is meant to be. The characters from the previous books are back, this time in a supporting role as this book is all about Hannah and Roarke, the man you hate to love! He's a killer in court, and in the bedroom, but it is the side of the man that Hannah gets to know that makes her knees weak, her heart pound and her soul soar.

I loved this book, this series, and getting to know the characters and falling in love with each one of them. I not only highly recommend this book, but the entire series! You will not be disappointed!
