She writes just for you:

JADE ROYAL'S INTERVIEW WITH SIRENS

1. When and why did you begin writing?
I began writing when I was a young girl. It started when I read a book that didn’t end the way that I wanted it to. I recreated the ending and started writing a book about a prince falling for a poor woman. I’m currently reworking the concept for a future book.

2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I was in high school and a friend of mine asked if she could take something I’d written and get it engraved on a locket for her boyfriend. That was the day that the seed was planted that maybe I was on to something.

3. Do you plot out your books on paper? Or seat of your pants?
I am a definite panster. I may work with a few known elements but otherwise, when I sit down to write, I have no idea what’s going to come through my fingertips.

4. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
All the above, I write based off what I see and hear so experience is definitely included. In my series: Limits of Love, a lot of me when into particular characters. There is a lot of me through the first few books in the series.

5. What books have most influenced your life?
Ann Rice- The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy
E. Lynn Harris- Invisible Life
Two authors whose journey represented of being who they wanted to be. There are a few other authors I should mention but

6. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Yikes. I don’t think that I could rightfully choose just one. Authors that create their own journey by doing things that people said they couldn’t are always inspiring.

7. What book are you reading now?
I’m rereading The Mating by Nicky Charles for the 100th time. Lol One of the things that are usually successful when I have writer’s block is reading. So, I’m reading that and also Cherise Sinclair’s Servicing the Target. Both authors are on my favorite’s list.

8. What are your current projects?
I’m currently working on my first series, Limits of Love. The 1st official book is scheduled to release in January. The introduction to the series will release this month. It’s called Unspoken Heartaches. I’m also working on a werewolf series and a few anthologies.

9. Do you see writing as a career?
Yes. It took a while but I definitely don’t see it as a hobby anymore. My goal is to one day be able to have the time to write more words to be stalked without the distraction of a “job”.

10. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in writing?
Yes! Apparently, I turn everything into a series. The words and ideas are always flowing, even when there is a block. I guess I dream big! lol

11. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
E. Lynn Harris. He faced many struggles as an author but he always persevered. He started selling his books from the trunk of his car but when he died, he’d touched many of people with his words. He wrote about controversial things and had a way of making you feel raw emotion. Definitely my favorite author.

12. Do you have any advice for other writers?
Don’t doubt yourself. If writing is something you want to do, do it. It’s not as easy as it seems. It takes courage to put your artistic imprint out there for others to read and critique. Be prepared to work to make your dream a reality because the reward is indescribable.

13. Which of your books do you like the most?
The second book in my series. It’s called Tethered Trust. It’ll be released next year. It took a lot out of me to write it but the female lead, Vanessa, had a story to tell. There’s loss, love, a stalker, death, and drama to pull you in. So far, it’s my favorite.

14. Do you get nervous when you publish a book?
I’m releasing my first book in a couple of weeks and I’m super nervous but also very excited. I never thought that I’d have a published book and here I am days before making that a reality.

Fun Questions:

Favorite food?
Pizza and anything Italian.

Favorite time of day?
I’m a night owl. The day should really begin at 12pm. lol

What do you do to relax?
Relax? What’s that? Lol I read or drive long distances at faster speeds. It puts the tension into perspective.

Favorite color?
Pink!!! All of the shades of it but especially hot pink. Yes!

Cats or dogs?
Dogs. Their more superior. Lol They are also very good at keeping your feet ward. ☺

Favorite music genre?
Unfair question. My music playlist jumps from R&B to Pop to Soul to Country to Reggae to Dubb Step to Rock to Metal to… I don’t discriminate unless it’s bluegrass or something like that. I love music and I can’t write without it. Hell, I can’t do anything without music. I play music when I shower in the morning. lol

What questions would you like to ask your readers?
What genre would you like to see me dabble in? Usually, I write all things Romance including Erotica.
