Elias Raven - Interview

❤️     〰~   CAIN: Rage of Angels   ~〰    ❤️

The explosive second book in the CAIN series

CAIN: Sins of the Father

The family has been cursed since the beginning of time. It’s a legacy CAIN inherits from his father - and all of the fathers before him. Generation after generation has worn the mark - a right of passage that goes back to the beginning when Adam and Eve first walked the earth and were expelled from paradise.

But now vengeance from a bastard brother, who covets all that is CAIN’s including CAIN’s true love Genevieve, ignites a war between angels and demons, heaven and hell, good and evil. Two men, two brothers, two sides - they will battle for Genevieve’s body and soul – and for the fate of the world.

The story begins with two wounded people finding their way back to love, but legacies, destinies, vengeance and betrayal will tear them apart setting in motion tragic events and explosive battles that will unleash the power that is CAIN.

The great wheel has turned and the final game has begun.

CAIN: Rage of Angels

Elias, never saw it coming. The deception had been flawless. He had looked into the dark eyes of his half-brother Qaylin. The torrent of anger and rage rose from the dark abyss of his soul at what this bastard had done. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before or since… A million times a million Cains screamed across the Heavens. Their voices echoed in his head demanding the blood of the betrayer, Qaylin!

Elias knew it was time he stopped fighting from a position of weakness. He had to get up and take the fight to the enemy’s doorstep. He only had a small window of time to do so. He would have to strike while they thought he was beaten. Then stand toe to toe against the forces of Hell itself. Somehow he had to even the odds in their favor and give him and his men a fighting chance to win. But his ancient enemies were powerful. It appeared as though the heavens had been eerily quiet as if the matters of men no longer mattered to the angelic host. It seemed Lucifer had full dominion over this mortal coil. If that was so, what chance did Elias and his men have against such an enemy?

Elias Raven was born and raised in Los Angeles. He’s an avid reader with a lifelong passion for writing. He’s a storyteller, a poet and a talented musician with an amazing voice. Oh, and let’s not forget an amazing cook!

As a young boy he spent many summers reading classics such as "The Adventures of Sherlock Homes" and "The White Company" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. His creativity was constantly being pushed as he learned more and more about the world around him. His taste in literature spanned from classics to science fiction/fantasy. He expanded his taste into classical poetry devouring everything from William Blake to Milton, Dante, Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud, T.S. Elliot, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Khalil Gibran, William Carlos Williams, Ezra Pound, Paul Verlaine, Walt Whitman, Alan Ginsburg, Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Carl Sandburg, Dylan Thomas, and Jim Morrison. These inspirations and his sheer love for reading had him take pen to paper around the age of 20.

Did I mention he’s a Musician? ...You can often find him playing his guitars (both electric and acoustic) and keyboards and singing (4 octave ranges) in his home studio. He’s a classically trained music aficionado -trained early on by Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Hayden, Liszt, as well as Big Band, Jazz and Rag Time. Spending time with his father at the Los Angeles Philharmonic; experiencing his first orchestra concert at the age of 9.

Elias the Gourmet Cook…Oh My!...His Japanese mother and grandmother trained him very well in fine culinary skills both in cooking and food appreciation from all over the world such as Italian, Indian, Moroccan, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hawaiian, Pilipino, Greek, and Polish.

When Elias is not reading, writing, composing music or cooking…he can be found listening to music, playing games, hanging out with his kids.  He enjoys going to concerts, going on culinary adventures, sightseeing, spending the day at the beach or in the mountains…just doing something adventurous!

Recently, Elias became inspired by Gina Whitney, Scott Hildreth, R.K.Lilley & Mia Sheridan for their Adult Erotic/Romance/BDSM writings. Cain ~ Sins of the Father is an epic romance with hot passion, love and vengeance. It’s a fusion of the traditional bible story, a battle between two brothers with wicked twists and turns bringing us forward to the present day.

From Elias…The fans are everything to me. They drive me to be even more creative. Their insight, feedback, the give and take are all what I live for. I am very people oriented and outgoing - I love interacting with the people reading my work

I love pulling the reader into what I'm seeing and feeling. I love to envelop the person reading my book into a sensory wonderland as the words stimulate the senses and thought processes and totally pull them into my story and the world I am painting so broadly before them.

He’s decided to share his passions with the world – Enjoy the journey with Elias Raven!

 Interview with Sirens

1. When and why did you begin writing?
Since my 20's when I started writing poetry.

2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’ve considered myself a poet for many years, but a writer... I would say about two years ago when I attempted my first novel, Falls Dance. That’s when I considered myself a writer.

3. Do you plot out your books on paper? Or seat of your pants?
Seat of my pants, but I do a lot of research around each chapter as I’m world building the book.

4. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Yes, some of my first novel is actually based on my own experiences and life. I won’t say what pieces, but there is a certain reality to the novel.

5. What books have most influenced your life?
There are almost too many to list. For Fantasy it would be Patricia McKillip – The Star Bearer Trilogy and Michael Morcock– The Bane Of The Black Sword series. Also of course The Lord Of The Rings, Shogun, and Noble House. Most of the early Tom Clancy Novels, T.S. Elliot Musings Of The March Hare, Robert Frost – A Boys Will and North Of Boston, Khalil Gibran.. The list is endless.

6. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Gina Whitney.

7. What book are you reading now?
Actually, I’m reading Dante’s Inferno right now.

8. What are your current projects?
I’m releasing my second novel, Cain – Rage Of Angels on October 25th, 2016.  I am releasing a Co-Author project with Sharon Johnson called Letters Away, a historical romance. Followed by Scarlett Redd (working title), a steampunk mystery thriller and a novella called Magnificent. That’s just this years wishlist. Also, I am working on a new poetry book to follow up last years The Painted Shadows. I’m also in a few anthologies pending release. That’s just for the next three months.

9. Do you see writing as a career?
Absolutely! I’m hoping a full time career in 3-5 years.

10. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in writing?
Time is always the enemy. Not enough of it.

11. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
It really varies. I love Joseph Conrad for instance. Heart Of Darkness is a masterpiece into the heart of men.  I also love Hemmingway.. Mostly the detail and how the story flows and how It sweeps you the reader into the tail fully immersing you in their vision.

12. Do you have any advice for other writers?
Study your craft, and never be afraid to learn new things. Once you start the novel or novella, don't stop. Finish it, mistakes and all. Once your done, you can go back and edit.

13. Which of your books do you like the most?
I love all of my books. Each is a part of me. I don’t have a favorite. I enjoy each one as it stands.

14. Do you get nervous when you publish a book?
Doesn’t everyone? Amazon crashed, the formatting isn’t taking, we botched the presale, and on and on and on.
