1. When and why did you begin writing?
I started my first novel a little over 2 years ago. I had a story in my head that over time evolved until I finally decided to give it a try.
2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Not until I published my 2nd book.
3. Do you plot out your books on paper? Or seat of your pants?
I fly by the seat of my pants in every thing I do! Usually I get an idea, and I let it roll around in my head for a while as I change things around, I usually don't start writing until I've got a solid plot, and even then it can and will change.
4. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
My own experiences
5. What books have most influenced your life?
I grew up reading Stephen King, Jane Austen, Billie Letts, SE Hinton. All of them have influenced me in one way or another.
6. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Well there are so many I look up to and admire. I guess I would have to say Colleen Hoover, she is such a wonderful author, every book she writes is filled with so much emotion. It's impossible not to feel like you are living her characters lives as you read her books.
7. What book are you reading now?
I'm not reading anything at the moment, but my kindle is full of amazing books just waiting for me to dive into
8. What are your current projects?
I have several. I'm working on book 4 of the Tabu series-Makus' story. I'm currently working on a shot story for a BDSM anthology, plus I have two more I'm working on.
9. Do you see writing as a career?
No, it's just a hobby, but I'm not saying I wouldn't want it to be a career, unfortunately it wouldn't pay the bills.
10. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in writing?
Dialogue, I want my characters to be just like you or me...as normal as possible. But at the same time, I don't want the reader to get bored, so I have a hard time deciding on the content of their dialogue.
11. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Once again I would have to say Colleen Hoover, the depth of emotion she adds to her books are amazing
12. Do you have any advice for other writers?
Read, read a lot!! Develop your own style and write about what you know.
13. Which of your books do you like the most?
My first novel, Miles From Home, it's my baby. I put so much of myself into it.
14. Do you get nervous when you publish a book?
Yes! I'm always afraid the reader will get bored. I want to transport them into my character's world where they can forget about their own problems for a while.
Favorite time of day?
What do you do to relax?
Write, cook or sit outside
Cats or dogs?
