Meet the Author
BIO
*AJ Storm is an avid reader of BDSM, erotic paranormal romance, and murder/mystery books. She’s particularly fond of vampire and shifter stories. Currently, she lives in the Midwestern part of the United States with her husband of 40 years and her one-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever. In her younger years, she played twelve string guitar and wrote love songs for her husband while they were dating. AJ is extremely passionate about wolves and their habitat. Her wish is to one day be able to pet one. Her love of reading encouraged her to write her own daydreams down on paper and develop them into stories. When not reading, writing, or taking care of her husband, she spends time with two grown children and her six grandchildren.
AJ has previously published five books with Bitten Press LLC. The first was Emily's Passion. It was written to encourage women of a certain age to discover and believe desire and sexuality are still viable traits to their make-up. It also touches on breast cancer and the effects it can have on a woman and her frame of mind. These traits are still a part of the mature woman and breast cancer survivor, and Emily's Passion proves it.
Dark Strangers was AJ's second book. It deals with the age old war between vampires and werewolves. AJ jumps right in the middle of the dilemma striving to close the gap between the two species. Two sexy alphas, who are best friends, lead the way into uncharted territory...one a female vampire and the other a male wolf shifter. True love finds them in the midst of chaos, deception, and evil. Alexander's Story is the second book in the Dark Strangers Trilogy and continues the saga of two paranormal species. This book delves into the cause of the rift between the species and uses her hero to bring about the change needed. Of course, nothing is ever easy and evil has a way of staying one step ahead of good. Alexander's Story not only provides a means to an end, but new beginnings. Our hero finds HOT sex and true love in the process.
AJ's final book of the trilogy, The Power of Two, wraps up the story of our two families completing their goals, heartaches, and successes through generations to come. An erotic murder mystery, Fortune’s Eyes is set in the heart of New Orleans. Fortune’s Eyes is the story of a young woman who seeks sanctuary in the home of her aunt, but is immersed in the darker side of NOLA. Friended by a sexy homicide detective, they search the city for the serial killer who is especially fond of fortune tellers and sets his eyes on our heroine.
AJ just finished the sequel to Emily’s Passion, Right of Passion. The book continues the story of Alan and Emily’s love, only from the viewpoint of Alan. It’s truly a hot love story and will be out in August of 2016.
Stay tuned, AJ has many more characters trying to tell their own stories to her.
Interview with Sirens
1. When and why did you begin writing?
I have always written short stories to pictures that moved me to emotion. Four years ago another author friend encouraged me to write a book and I finally did.
2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Once my first book was written, I began calling myself an actual writer. When I had my fourth book published, I finally called myself an author.
3. Do you plot out your books on paper? Or seat of your pants?
I write my story on yellow pad paper, but I don't use a plot. My characters tell me their story and I write it down as given to me.
4. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life? Only one book/story was partially based on events from my life. That was Emily's Passion. My life and Emily's were identical until Doug left. From that point, the story of Emily and Alan was total fiction.
5. What books have most influenced your life?
I'm an avid reader so there are tons of stories that have affected me. If I had to narrow it down, I would say the entire Black Dagger Brotherhood series, all of Cherise Sinclair's books, the Vampire Academy series, and of course, the Twilight series.
6. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
JR Ward and Cherise Sinclair.
7. What book are you reading now?
None...I'm writing.
8. What are your current projects?
A paranormal shifter story based in the mountains of France.
9. Do you see writing as a career?
A career, no....as a continuing hobby that fulfills a need I have, yes.
10. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in writing?
Yes, getting readers to leave a review. It is really a necessary part of writing which tells the authors what was right or wrong and how we can improve.
11. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
I can't even begin to choose a favorite....Debbie Zello because of the detail and humor she puts into her stories, Chris Genovese because of his genius ability of writing the new and unexpected, Al Daltrey because of his honest stories of Dominance and submission, Ethan Radcliff's Man of Honor and Gentlemen's Agreement completely blew me away, Sydney Taylor's sensuous, sexy, and sultry poetry, Faith Gibson is amazing with her gargoyles and rock stars...I just can't pick one because there are so many excellent authors sharing their stories.
12. Do you have any advice for other writers?
Develop a tough skin because not only will you get praise, but you will also receive criticism. Believe in your work and always be open to learning more about writing.
13. Which of your books do you like the most?
It's a tie between Right of Passion and Fortune's Eyes.
14. Do you get nervous when you publish a book?
Oh, God, yes. I drive my publisher and PA nuts. I live in fear of people not liking my books.
